The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized an Orientation Program for Commerce students on 'Decoding the Career Success Path" in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv on 6^th February, 2024. Mr. Kanwaljit Singh (Lead trainer, CPBFI Bajaj Finserv) was the resource person in the programme. Mr. Kanwaljit Singh possesses vast and in-depth knowledge of career prospects for the Commerce students. The primary objective of the programme was to acquaint the students with the abundant career opportunities as a path to succeed in their career. The programme was planned and executed under the supervision of  Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal and Programme Chairman) and  Dr. A. K Kahlon (Dean, Head   and Programme Director) and Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Programme Coordinator).  Dr. A. K. Kahlon welcomed the resource person. Dr. Poonam Sharma introduced the distinguished guest. Dr. Nidhi conducted the stage and threw light upon the theme of the programme.

Mr. Kanwaljit Singh explained the Career Success Path for the Commerce Students that Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) helps in providing knowledge to participants regarding Attitude, Communication and Workplace Skills, Overview of Retail Banking and Insurance. They can look for a career in investment, banking and Accounts management. They can also pursue career as Accountant, Banker, Insurance Agent, Stock Trader, Investment Bankers, Financial Advisor, Actuary and HR Executives. He also emphasized on the skills required to succeed in Commerce related Professions such as mathematical skills, analytical skills, communication skills, computer skills and willingness to learn.

Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal fortified the students by saying that "When you gain confidence in yourself, dreams come true." The counsellors try to make your path clear by discarding all your confusion. Dr. A..K.  Kahlon energized that the career opportunities are immense for commerce students. Career counsellors can help the students to choose the best career path. More than 100 students from the commerce department participated in this programme and gained knowledge about the skills required for the jobs and numerous career prospects. Dr. Nidhi delivered vote of thanks. Prof. Meenu Chopra took charge of broadcasting the event and Dr.Samiya assisted in making arrangements for the event.
