Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI) commenced by PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv Ltd.


 

PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar commenced 1st Batch of “Certificate Programme on Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector” from 8th September, 2022 in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv Ltd.

 

The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar commenced “Certificate Programme on Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector (CPBFI)” in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv Ltd. This programme was a part and parcel of MoU signed between Khalsa College Amritsar and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. to impart practical training and essential skills to the students with a view to create employment opportunities for them in Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector.

The first batch of CPBFI programme launched on 8th September, 2022. The programme was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal and Programme Chairman) and Dr. A. K Kahlon (Dean and Programme Director). Dr. Mehal Singh during his address to participants highlighted the significance of practical knowledge along with theoretical aspects of finance for professional development of the students.

Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Assistant Professor, Commerce Department & Programme Coordinator) welcomed all the resource persons, faculty members and participants. He threw light upon the theme of the programme and introduced the chief guest Mr. Raja Dcruz, Bajaj Representative and management team. Dr. Megha (Assistant Professor, Commerce Department & Programme Assistant) has been deputed for the smooth conduct of CPBFI Programme.

Mr. Raja Dcruz explained the benefit of the program for the students. He emphasized that the professional trainers of Bajaj Finserv Ltd. will train the students under CPBFI Programme. He also highlighted that after completion of the programme, participants will gain knowledge about the skills required for the jobs and interview in Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector. More than 55 students from the commerce department participated in the programme.

Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, Lead Trainer, CPBFI introduced the professional trainers deputed for this programme. Mr. Bhupinder Jindal, Mr. Ashwani Puri and Ms. Gurmeet Kaur Dhaliwal, official trainers, Bajaj Finserv Ltd. are the resource persons of banking, insurance and communication & workplace skills sessions respectively in the programme. All resource persons possess vast and in-depth knowledge of their respective areas. The primary objective of the programme was to provide guidance on the various skills required for rendering banking, financial and Insurance services.

Dr. A. K. Kahlon, HOD Commerce delivered the vote of thanks to Bajaj Finserv for signing the memorandum of understanding for this relevant and skilful program. Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Poonam Sharma, Dr. Rachhpal Singh and other faculty members of Commerce department were present during the programme.
