Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar organized “Two Days Training Program on Entrepreneurship” on 11th-12thApril, 2023 in association with Makeintern @E-Cell(IIM Calcutta)


The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar
organized “Two Days Training Program on Entrepreneurship” on 11 th -12 th April, 2023 in association
with Makeintern (An Internship provider and previsously associated partner of E-Cell IIM
Calcutta/Bengaluru /Indore) and IIM Calcutta. The Resource Person of this training program was
Major Vishal, Consultant/Mentor, Makeinterns India. He is also Founder and Director of Mind Manager’s
Academy, India. Makeintern is a national award winning Skill Development Company with an elaborate
experience spanning over a period of 11 years bridging the gap between Students skills and Industry
requirements. This event was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal),
Dr. A. K Kahlon (Faculty Coordinator), Dr. Poonam Sharma (Sub Coordinator), Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal
(Sub Coordinator), Prof. Tushar Batra (Sub Coordinator). Dr. A. K Kahlon welcomed the Resource
Person. Dr. Poonam Sharma introduced the Resource Person of this Training Programme.
The International Business Plan Championship is divided into two rounds to help the students in
upgrading their skills at first and then selecting the best for the next round. The first round was
Preliminary round in which Makeintern organised a skill development program for the participating
students and they were provided 14 hours/2 days hands on training by industry expert on the topic of
Entrepreneurship. Students undergone training were gone through a selection process at the end of the
training and Top 5 Students were selected and will be invited to IIM Campus for the Final Round. All the
participants were distributed the certificates from Makeintern & E-Cell IIM along with college name and
logo. The aim of this Internship Training Programme plays a crucial role in shaping one’s career. It not
only enables undergraduate students and graduate students to gain real-world experience in the
workplace, but it also allows them to develop the skills needed to stand out in a crowded job market.
Major Vishal inspired the participants by emphasizing the significance of the event which aims to
provide increased opportunities for students with innovative solutions to global problems to participate in
the competition. Thirty-five teams from colleges across the globe will be shortlisted, and the students will
be invited to present their B-Plans before a panel of judges at IIMK's Annual Cultural Festival. There
should be 5 members per team, and one team per college.
Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal extended vote of thanks to the speaker of the session. The unique event
brings together students and professionals from different fields in an environment where they can help
and assist each other.
Around 49 students participated in this program and gained insights into the startup world by
listening to various industry experts. There will be informal meets with various entrepreneurs and experts
where the students can interact with them and build their network. They may participate in competitions
and win funding for their startups.
Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Dr. Rachhpal Singh and other faculty
members of Commerce department were present during the programme.
