The P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized 2 Days Workshop on “Financial Education for Young Citizens” on 5th& 6th October, 2023 in collaboration with NISM Mumbai and Aditya Birla Capital Foundation


The P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized the Workshop on “Financial Education for Young Citizens” on  5th& 6th October, 2023 at 10:30 AM in Computer Lab in the Department for final year Undergraduate and Post Graduate students. in collaboration with National Institute of Securities Marketes (NISM) , Mumbi and Aditya Birla Capital Foundation. This event was planned and executed under the direction of Principal Dr. Mehal Singh {Workshop Chairman), and Dr. A..K. Kahlon (Workshop Director). The Key Speaker of this Workshop was S. Bhagwant Singh, NISM Empanelled Resource Person. Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Workshop Co-ordinator) highlighted the main theme of this Workshop that it aims to create understanding of the basic financial concepts and skills amongst the students to navigate their way through the financial landscape successfully.

The Resource person acquainted the students about Financial education to understand the impact of their financial decisions on their overall financial health, enabling them to make better-informed decisions. An individual who is financially literate is better equipped to compare different types of financial products and make informed decisions about which products best suit their needs.

Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, exhilarated the students that it is significant need to understand and be able to manage your finances. Financial literacy programmes are often targeted at adults, but it's also important that children learn about money management at an early age. This will help them develop good financial habits, which they can carry with them throughout their lives.

Dr. A..K.  Kahlon energized that the financial literacy will enable the students to possess the set of skills and knowledge that allows an individual to make informed and effective decisions with all of their financial resources Prof. Meenu Chopra conducted the stage and  presented vote of thanks. Around 70 students participated in this programme.
