The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College, Amritsar commenced 3^rd Batch “Certificate Programme in Banking, Finance and Insurance (CPBFI)” in collaboration with Bajaj Finserv Ltd. This programme is a part and parcel of MoU signed between Khalsa College Amritsar and Bajaj Finserv Ltd. to impart practical training and essential skills to the students with a view to create employment opportunities for them in Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector. This programme is certified by National Skill Development Corporation, Government of India.

The Third batch of CPBFI programme was launched on 26 September, 2024. The programme was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. Mehal Singh (Principal and Programme Chairman), Dr. A. K Kahlon (Dean and Programme Director) and Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Assistant Professor & Programme Coordinator). Dr. Mehal Singh during his address to participants highlighted the significance of practical knowledge along with theoretical aspects of finance for professional development of the students. Dr. A. K Kahlon, highlighted the benefits of the programme for our students like developing right attitude, domain knowledge and communication skills to enhance their employability.

Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Assistant Professor & Programme Coordinator) welcomed all the resource persons, faculty members and participants. He threw light upon the theme of the programme and introduced the training partner Mr. Kanwaljit Singh, lead trainer of Punjab cluster from Bajaj Finserv. Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal (Assistant Professor & Assistant Programme Coordinator) has been deputed for the smooth conduct of CPBFI Programme.

Mr. Kanwaljit Singh explained the benefits and modules of the programme for the students. He introduced the professional trainers deputed for this programme. Mr. Bhupinder Jindal, Mr. Ashwani Puri and Dr. B.P. Gupta for CAWS and Managing Self , official trainers, Bajaj Finserv Ltd. are the resource persons of banking, insurance and communication & workplace skills sessions respectively in the programme. He also highlighted that after completion of the programme, participants will gain knowledge about the skills required for the jobs and interview in Banking, Finance and Insurance Sector. 52 students from the various departments of the college participated in the programme.

Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal expressed vote of thanks to all the dignitaries and participants. Prof. Meenu Chopra and Dr. Navpreet Kulaar took over the charge of broadcasting of the event. Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Deepak Devgan, Dr. Poonam Sharma and other faculty members of Commerce department were present during the programme.
