PG Department of Chemistry organized Orientation Program for B.Sc. (Medical) Sem-I, Bsc (Non-Med.) Sem-I, Bsc Hons Chemistry Sem-I, Msc Chemistry Sem-I on 23rd and 24th August 2022


 

Student Orientation Programme

 

PG Department of Chemistry organized Orientation Program for B.Sc. (Medical) Sem-I, Bsc (Non-Med.) Sem-I, Bsc Hons Chemistry Sem-I, Msc Chemistry Sem-I on 23rd and 24th August 2022. Students being the life of the campus, it's important to orient them towards the academics, co-curricular, extra-curricular activities and the campus right on the first day becausefor many students going to college may be their first experience away from home, so orientation programme gives them the required aid in getting acquainted with their new neighbourhood.

The main aim of the program was to give the students an insight into the various aspects of college life in the Department of Sciences, Khalsa College Amritsar.

The orientation programme was started with brief introduction and an overall view on the various activities of the Chemistry Department by Dr. AmitAnand, Associate Professor, P.G. Department of Chemistry followed by Dr KirandeepKaur, Coordinator of Dunicliff Society of Chemical Sciences. Dr B.K. Randhawa, HOD, Chemistry gave a detailed description on the disciplinary aspects, rules and regulation of the college, examination norms and patterns, instrumental facilities available at Department of Chemistry, etc. Then the students were addressed by Dr HardeepKaur, Incharge of Departmental Library, who welcomed the students and explained in detail about the vast inventory of literature available at the library, both in form of book as well as e-books. She talked about the RFID schemes implemented at the library, to make issuing of books hassle free. Further, all the facilities present at the library were given a short mention, like wifi, LAN, reading hall, research journals. All other faculty members Dr NavalpreetKaur, Dr KuljeetKaur, Dr SukhmeetKaur, Dr Jasneet Kaur, Dr AabrooMahal, Dr Harpreet Singh and Dr BaljeetKaur, also welcomed the students and motivated them to excel in their respective fields.

This programme was great opportunity for faculty members to get connected to the new batch of students.

The programme came to an end with the provision of refreshments.
