The Post Graduate Dept. of English of Khalsa College organised Literary Quiz for the students of B.A. (Hons.) English, M.A. (English) and Elective English students of Humanities. Dr. Mehal Singh, the Principal of The College graced the occasion as the chief guest while Prof. Anupam Sandhu, Head of the Dept. presided over the event.
The programme commenced with the recitation of the College Shabad followed by the floral welcome of the Chief Guest. Dr. Mehal Singh in his address said that online teaching is void of opportunities for the application of theoretical knowledge so it can not replace regular learning at Alma-mater. Prof. Anupam Sandhu appraised that co-curricular activities are special opportunities for the holistic development of the students. She emphasied the maximum participation in these activities.
Prof. Supninderjit Kaur, the co-ordinator of the programme presented the vote of thanks. She specially thanked Academic Development Committee of the department which comprises Prof. Parneet Dhillon, Prof. Sawant Singh Manto, Prof. Daljeet Singh, Prof. Vijay Bernard, Prof. Gurpreet Singh and Prof. Harsh Salaria for their untiring efforts for the success of the programme. She also informed that the department organises various co-curricular activities to inculcate self confidence, art public speaking and to nurture interest in literature among the students.
The Quiz was efficiently conducted by Prof. Gurpreet Singh while Sehajpreet, Pawanpreet Kaur, Mansi Soni and Isha students of the department assisted in keeping the score and time. This event was benefited by 150 students.
Prof. Mamta Mahendru, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Prof. Pooja Kalia, Prof. Saurav Megh, Prof. Markas and other faculty members were present on this occasion.
