One Day Workshop on Creative Writing in English on September 13, 2016
Sept 13,2016 Amritsar : The Post Graduate Department of English of Khalsa College Amritsar Organized One Day Workshop on Creative Writing in English conducted by S. Khushwant Singh an eminent author and journalist. The event began with inaugural ceremony where S.Khushwant Singh was welcomed by Dr.Mehal Singh, the Principal and Prof Sukhmeen Bedi , Dean Academics and Head of the Department. Prof Anupam Sandhu introduced the resource person. In his keynote address S.Khushwant Singh said that “Creative writing is an expression of
our freedom .It shatters the fetters of our various confinements and liberates our mind from bondage of boundaries”. Two interactive sessions were conducted after the inaugural session. S. Khushwant Singh gave tips on writing skills saying creative minds should be fed with reading habits .Thirty five students of different departments participated and benefitted from the event. In the end Prof Sukhmeen Bedi thanked the resource person and other guests. Prof. Devinder Singh, Prof. Navneen Bawa, Prof. Anupam Sandhu, Prof. Supinderjit Kaur, Prof. Parneet Dhillon, Prof. Swant Singh Manto, Prof. Malkinder Singh and all the other faculty members were present on this occasion.
