The Post Graduate Department of English of the Historic Khalsa College organised Lit-Fiesta, an inter-college literary festival. Dr. Mehal Singh , Principal of the College graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia, Dean Academic Affairs and Prof. Devinder Singh, Registrar were the special guests. The programme commenced with the recitation of the College Shabad, followed by the formal welcome by Prof. Supninderjit Kaur, Head PG Department of English. Dr. Mehal Singh in his inaugural address said that these kinds of festivals are the application of knowledge obtained in the classrooms. They help not only in the academic development of the students but also in making career. Prof. Supninderjit Kaur apprised that College constantly organises such events for the holistic development of its students.
Teams from GNDU Campus, DAV University Jalandhar and various colleges affiliated to GNDU participated in the literary Quiz. Team from GNDU stood first, DAV College Amritsar stood second whereas DAV University was third in the competition.
Poetry Recitation, Western song, Beat-Boxing were the major attractions. The winners were awarded with trophies by the Chief Guest. Prof. Malkinder Singh presented vote of thanks whereas Prof .Gurpreet Singh efficiently act as Quiz Master. Dr. Sawant Singh Manto, Prof. Daljeet Singh, Dr. Mamta Mahendru, Prof Vijay Bernard, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Prof. Pooja Kalia, Prof.Saurav Megh, Prof. Harsh Salaria, Prof. M.P. Masih, Prof. Harmanpreet Singh and other faculty members were also present on this occasion.
