Post Graduate Department of Computer Science & Applications, Khalsa College Amritsar organized Tech-Fest 2018 on February 28,2018. Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal, Khalsa College Amritsar was the Chief Guest of the function and Dr.Hardeep Singh, Head, Computer Science Deptt. G.N.D.U. ,Amritsar, Dr.Jatinder Singh Bal, Vice-Chancellor Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Jalandhar, Prof. Navneen Bawa, OSD, Khalsa College, Amritsar were the Guests of Honour for the function.
Dr. Mehal Singh said that such kind of technical fests enhances the talents of the students and encourages them to know about new technologies being used in the current era. He praised the faculty and students of Department of Computer Science for organizing Tech-Fest 2018.
Dr. Hardeep Singh also praised the event and stressed that there are tremendous jobs and placements for candidates who are having certain acquired skills and exactly trained for the requirements of IT companies and organizations.
Prof. Harbhajan Singh Randhawa, Head, Department of Computer Science & Applications presented the departmental report. He said that such events help the students to reach out to new innovations in Computer and IT world and enhance the competitive spirit of the students. He said that the success of this event is the result of hard work of every staff member and student of Computer Science Department.
Tech-Fest 2018 inculcates 14 events which is a blend of Technical events, IT-Contests, Cultural & Creative events in which 17 colleges participatedfrom different regions of Punjab such as Khalsa College for Women,Amritsar, DAV College Amritsar, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, APJ Institute of Management & Technology, Jalandhar, Trinity College, Jalandhar, SGAD College Khadur Sahib,Global Institutes,Amritsar etc.
Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal Khalsa College Amritsar distributed the prizes to the winning teams. Overall trophy is being tied in two colleges Khalsa College Amritsar & Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar. First Runner up was DAV College Amritsar & Second Runner up was Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar. Principal Dr.Mehal Singh congratulated the winners. Dr.Mani Arora Co-Convener Tech-Era Computer Society, P.G. Deptt.ofComputer Science & Applications gave vote of thanks.Prof. Rajkaran Singh and Prof. Ravi Patni handled the event as deputy co-conveners. Prof. Sukhpuneet Kaur& Prof. Anureet Kaur handled the stage. Prof. Kawaljit Kaur, Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur, Prof. Jagbir Singh, Prof Poonamjit Kaur, Prof. Gaganpreet Kaur& others staff members were present during this event.
