P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized the Workshop on “CAT EXAM: How to crack it” on 28.09.2023


 

The P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized the Workshop on “CAT EXAM: How to crack it” on 28.09.2023 AT 10:30 AM in Computer Lab in the Department for final year Undergraduate and Post Graduate students. in collaboration with Career Guidance Cell.. This event was planned and executed under the supervision of Principal Dr. Mehal Singh {Workshop Chairman), and Dr. A..K.  Kahlon (Workshop Director). The Resource Person of this Workshop was Mr. Gautam Aggarwal, Head, Career Launcher, Amritsar. Dr. Ajay Sehgal (Workshop Co-ordinator) highlighted the main object of this Workshop that it aims to influence our students to avail the opportunity to study in the best management colleges in India. These colleges include all the IIMs, FMS Delhi, MDI Gurgaon, XLRI Jamshedpur, S.P. Jain Mumbai, etc. by qualifying the CAT exam. Dr. Sawant Singh Manto, Director, Career Guidance Cell stimulated the students to get personalised mentorship from the resource person through this workshop.

The Resource person acquainted  the students about cracking various Competetive Exams specifically CAT Exam. He channelled them towards the Essential Tips to Crack CAT in 3 Months that If they plan on cracking CAT, they require a rigorous study plan and an effective exam strategy. He supplemented that  to reach the top percentiles, some measures the students must take diligently during their CAT preparation such as Understand the Syllabus & Exam Pattern before beginning their CAT preparation, Create a Study Plan, Attempt Mock Exams, Practise Previous Papers and also prepare for the most frequently asked concepts. Simultaneously, they will be able to check your preparedness and test their exam strategy. He added that CAT is an aptitude exam, which implies that one need to be good at solving questions purely on the basis of the most rudimentary concepts. These are usually whatever they have learned in English and Maths till class 10th.

Dr. A..K.  Kahlon energized that the career opportunities are immense for commerce students. Career counsellors can help the students to identify the right tools and parameters in cracking diversed Competitive Exams. Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal fortified the students by saying that “When you gain confidence in yourself, dreams come true.” The counsellors try to make your path clear by discarding all your confusion.  Dr. Sawant Singh Manto presented vote of thanks. Around 150 students participated in this programme.
