Khalsa College Amritsar is a premier NAAC accredited institution of North India providing education, research and consultancy in various areas of Technology, Science, Humanities and Social Sciencesetc.
The college has added another feather in its cap by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Institute of Charted Accountants of India (ICAI) which is the premier accounting body regulating the profession of Chartered Accountants in India. The ICAI also caters student support services, network for delivery of courses, programmes throughout the country and abroad. It is apex body controlling the accounting and auditing standards in India. The MoU has been signed by Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal on behalf of Khalsa College Amritsar and ShriRakeshSehgal, Acting Secretary on behalf of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
The objective of this MoU is to extend academic cooperation in various courses under the Faculty of Commerce & Management. This will also catalyse the development of collaborative and mutually beneficial programmes which will serve to enhance the intellectual and professional development in both institutions. The ICAI though this MoU will extend its support in framing Syllabi of various courses under the Faculty of Commerce & Management. Moreover, the students and faculty of KCA shall be apprised about the latest trends and amendments in the field of accounting and taxationby organizing workshops, seminars, extended lectures for students and Faculty Development Programmes for the staff.
Dr.Mehal Singh, Principal congratulated the whole-hearted efforts of Dr.Avtar Singh, Head and Dr. Ajay Sehgal, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce & Business Administration for achieving this rare milestone for the college. Dr.Mehal Singh also thanked CA Sanjay Arora (Chairman), CA Shashi Pal (Secretary) and CA GauravAggarwal(Renowned Member) Amritsar Branch of Chartered Accountants for initiating and successfully finalizing the process of MoU.
