The P.G. Department of Commerce & Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized “B-Plan Pitches: Poster Presentation of Business Plans” in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Khalsa College Amritsar on 22nd February 2025. The event was planned and executed under the guidance of Principal Dr. A. K. Kahlon, along with Dr. Deepak Devgan (Coordinator) and Dr. Manisha Behal, Prof. Sheetal and Prof. Tushar Batra (Co-Coordinator). Dr. A. K. Kahlon addressed that the event serves as a platform for young minds to develop their entrepreneurial vision and transform innovative ideas into structured business plans.
Dr. Sawraj Kaur and Dr. Gursharan Kaur (IIC, President) served as judges for the competition. Dr. Sawraj Kaur expressed her appreciation for the participants and organizers and encouraged students to actively engage in similar events to refine their business acumen and enhance their problem-solving capabilities. Dr. Gursharan Kaur (IIC, President) inspired the students for enhancing their participation in these competitions to develop interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence and other soft skills.
Further, Dr. Deepak Devgan (Coordinator) enthused the participants and underlined that such event can inspire entrepreneurial thinking among students. If a student decides to become an entrepreneur, an entrepreneurial mindset is essential.
Around 13 participants from different departments of the college took part in the competition, who showcased their innovative business ideas through poster presentations. These presentations highlighted key aspects of identifying business opportunities, developing business models, conducting market research, feasibility analysis and enhancing communication as well as organizational skills. The event’s broadcasting and media coverage were efficiently managed by Prof. Meenu Chopra and Dr. Navpreet Kaur.
Jaspreet Singh Arora from B. Com (R)-IV won 1ST Prize, Pavneet Kaur from BFST-II won 2nd Prize and Kiranjot Kaur from B. Com (H)-IV won 3rd Prize in the competition.
The co-coordinators, Dr. Manisha Behal and Prof. Sheetal actively contributed to mentor the participants, providing them with strategic guidance. Further, Prof. Tushar Batra managed the logistical aspects of the event and played pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success.
