The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Khalsa College Amritsar organized Campaign-cum-Workshop on Future Tycoons (An Initiative of District Administration, Amritsar) in association with District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises and PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 19th February, 2025 at 12:30 pm at seminar hall of the college. The workshop was planned and executed under the supervision of Dr. A.K. Kahlon (Principal), Dr. Poonam Sharma (Workshop Coordinator), Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal, Prof. Meenu Chopra and Prof. Anindita Kaur Kahlon (Workshop Co-Coordinators).
Mr. Tirathpal Singh, Deputy CEO, District Bureau of Employment & Enterprises, Amritsar was the key speaker at the event. He shared valuable insights and addressed the participants, offering guidance on career growth, entrepreneurship, and skill development. He also motivated the students to register themselves with future tycoons for startups with innovative ideas. He addressed about six categories where the participants can register themselves.
Following his session, Journalist Anjanmit Singh Bedi from DC office also emphasized the importance of innovation, leadership, and adaptability in today’s competitive business environment and provided additional insights for fostering entrepreneurial skills among students. Further, Ms. Amannat Sharma, MBA finance, Intern from DC office also motivated the participants in this pioneering initiative with their innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit.
Principal Dr. A. K Kahlon extended the floral welcome to the resource persons and appreciated the efforts of the department and emphasized the importance of Future Tycoon, a platform designed to nurture aspiring entrepreneurs by equipping them with essential skills, knowledge, and mentorship.
Dr. Poonam Sharma introduced and welcomed the guests and emphasized the significance of Campaign-cum-Workshop in offering guidance and support from the government officials as regards various opportunities for students to pitch their creative business ideas. Prof. Meenu Chopra conducted the stage and Dr. Nidhi Sabharwal delivered vote of thanks. Around 105 students actively participated in the workshop.
Dr. Sawraj Kaur, Dr. Amit Anand (Head, Chemistry Department), Dr. Deepak Devgan and Dr. Ajay Sehgal from Khalsa University, Amritsar were also present in this event. Prof. Meenu Chopra, Dr. Harpreet Kaur Mehrok and Dr. Navpreet Kulaar took over the charge of media and publicity of the event. Dr. Samiya, Dr. A.S. Bhalla and Prof. Sheetal Gupta assisted in conducting this event.
