NSS Activities 2023-24

                                                       NSS ACTIVITIES 2022-23

1)       The NSS Units of Khalsa College, Amritsar organized an event on the theme 'Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta' on 1^st Oct 2023. The volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive and cleaned the college's surroundings. The volunteers also conducted an awareness drive to encourage people to clean their surroundings and environment.

2)      National Service Scheme Units of Khalsa College, organised “Free Dental Health Check-up Camp” on 6^th October, 2023 in collaboration with Clove Dental Clinic to create awareness about Dental health. A three-member Dental team, Dr. Nandini (MDS), Oral surgeon, along with Dental Assistant, M/s. Dolly and Lovepreet Sharma arranged for the Dental checkup in Department of Physiotherapy. More than hundred students participated in the event, their teeth were examined and free consultation was provided.

3)      National Service Scheme Units of Khalsa College organised an event on “No Polythene Day” on 14^th September, 2023 to create awareness about harmful effects of using polythene bags on the environment and surroundings. Posters were prepared by the students of various departments. The posters were displayed in the classroom to create awareness and encourage them to keep their environment clean.

4)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a One Day event on “Water Conservation”.  The main theme of the program was to conserve water by various means at the level of individual and families. More than 100 students participated in the event and gained knowledge about water conservation.

5)      NSS Units of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a One Day Seminar on “Bhai Ghanayia Ji: Life and Philosophy”.  The main theme of the program was to sensitize the students about the moral values gained from the life of Bhai Ghanayia Ji. More than 150 students participated in the event and gained knowledge about the life of Bhai Sahib Ji. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh was the keynote speaker of this event.

6)      The NSS Units of Khalsa College, Amritsar organized an event on the theme ‘Safai Mitra event’ on 22^nd September 2023 under the leadership of Dr. Zorawar Singh and Dr Seozy Bhatia. Senior students of Agriculture department shared their experiences of NSS working in the past in the college. They further recited poems on Importance of cleanliness in one’s life and for society. Further, team of NSS volunteers went to clean college and its surroundings.

7)      Sadbhawna Diwas was organized on 26-9-2023 in which more than 60 students took the Sadbhawna oath for social wellbeing.

8)      The NSS Units of Khalsa College, Amritsar organized an event on the theme ‘Garbage Free Cities’ on 27^th September 2023. . Many Students participated in poster-making/Slogan-writing events. They made posters and wrote slogans on the theme mentioned above.  The volunteers also participated in the cleanliness drive and cleaned many college parks.
