The Department of Psychology and Sociology, Khalsa College, Amritsarin collaboration with Aditya Birla Education Trust organized an awareness session on Mental Health Issues on 20^th November, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the seminar hall of college.This session was executed under the guidance of Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal and Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Dean of Arts and Social Sciences. Ms. Ramandeep Kaur, the state co-ordinator of MPower, Aditya Birla Education Trust commenced this session by mainly focusing on the significance of mental health awareness among youngsters.

The seminar began with an interactive session with the students where Ms. Manveer Kaur, Psychologist (Punjab),MPowerasked students questions regarding their perceptions of mental health. The students were further explained the concept of mental health, different mental issues, their symptoms, causes and the ways of tackling them.

At last, an interactive session was held where the key speaker responded to personal queries of students.Faculty members Dr. Jashandeep Kaur (Psychology),Dr. Sukhbir Singh (Sociology),Dr. Jasdeep Kaur (Sociology), Dr. Bharti Jasrotia (Sociology),Prof. Inderjeet Kaur (Geography) and students of Social Sciences disciplineparticipated in this session.
