The Dunnicliff Chemical Society of the PG Department of Chemistry at Khalsa College, Amritsar, conducted an educational excursion to Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) in Amritsar on Sep. 19,2024. This visit was specifically organized for M.Sc. students and was overseen by Dr. Kirandeep Kaur and Dr. Sukhmeet Kaur. The main purpose of this tour was to acquaint students with the advanced instrumentation and educational resources available at GNDU. It sought to provide M.Sc. Chemistry students with exposure to the cutting-edge laboratory facilities and equipment at the university. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore various instruments, including NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, scanning electron microscopy, and confocal microscopy. The experience proved to be enlightening for the students, who were greatly impressed by the sophisticated facilities and apparatus at GNDU. This educational excursion allowed students to remain informed about the latest advancements in the field of chemistry and to gain insights into the ongoing research initiatives at GNDU. Throughout the visit, students participated in a guided tour of the laboratories and research facilities, where they were introduced to various scientific research methodologies and experiments. They also engaged with faculty members and technicians, who motivated them to consider pursuing further studies and research in Chemistry. The visit was both informative and educational, offering students a distinctive opportunity to observe the practical applications of the theoretical concepts they had studied in their coursework.
