The Chemistry Department (Dunnicliff Chemical Society) was honoured to host an invited talk by Dr. Mandeep Singh Bakshi on December 19, 2024, as part of faculty development initiatives. Dr. Bakshi, an esteemed academic and Associate Professor in Department of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, delivered an insightful session titled “Faculty Enrichment Program.” Dr. Amit Anand, the Head of the Department of Chemistry, welcomed Prof. Bakshi, and set the tone for the lecture, and extend a warm welcome to all attendees.

The talk emphasized the importance of continuous professional development and strategies to enhance teaching efficacy, research innovation, and collaboration among faculty members. Dr. Bakshi shared various models of faculty development, focusing on the integration of technology in education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and international research opportunities. Dr. Bakshi also outlined methods for fostering student engagement and critical thinking, highlighting innovative assessment techniques and interactive learning strategies. Additionally, he shared his experiences in international teaching, emphasizing the value of cross-cultural collaboration, adapting to diverse student needs, and leveraging global perspectives to enrich the learning environment. The session concluded with a positive interaction, where faculty members posed questions about the application of discussed strategies in different institutional contexts. Dr. Bakshi’s dynamic and thoughtful responses enriched the conversation further.

A valedictory function was held at the end of the seminar. Dr. Hardeep Kaur, thanked Dr. Bakshi, and the faculty members for their valuable cooperation in making this talk a grand success.
