World Ozone Day (September 16, 2024)
The Zoological Society celebrated “World Ozone Day-2024” on September 16, 2024. The day is celebrated worldwide to create awareness about the importance and need of the Ozone layer which is providing protection to living world against the UV rays coming out from the sun. Increasing pollution due to industrialization has been a continuous threat leading to depletion of ozone layer resulting in penetration of UV rays in earth’s atmosphere, which is the major cause of increasing diseases like incidence of skin cancers among humans. During this event, students participated in various competitions like Quiz, Rangoli and Poster Competition. Trophies and certificates were awarded to the winners.
