“Free BMD and Physiotherapy Camp”
The Physio club members of PG Department of Physiotherapy in collaboration with Majha College for Women Tarn Taran organized a “Free BMD and Physiotherapy Camp” at Majha College for Women Tarn Taran on 10th October, 2024. The camp was organized with the motive to detect the deficiency of calcium in the bones of people with age 25 years and above. Also complete body mass check-up and free physiotherapy consultation was given to the patients. A total number of 137 people from college campus and the areas nearby the Majha College for Women Tarn Taran availed the free services of this camp and underwent the assessment of their bone mineral density levels. It was found that out of 137, 55 % of patients were diagnosed with low bone mineral density level, most of which were found to be osteopenic. However, the remaining appeared to be normal and they were also assessed for any associated neck, shoulder and back pain occurring due to lifestyle changes.
The patients were also advised to follow a healthy diet and take other nutritional supplements. The experts guided them on the diet to raise the bone mineral density levels and diet charts were also distributed to them.
