World Physiotherapy Day Celebration
The ‘World Physiotherapy Day’ was celebrated by the department of Physiotherapy on 8th September, 2016. Dr. Shyamal Koley, Head, Department of Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar inaugurated the event and was the Chief Guest for the day. The event started with the addressing note by Chief Guest and respected Principal Dr. Mehal Singh. The head of the department Dr. Davinder K. Dhillon made the students aware of the importance of this day and the current scenario and future trends of Physiotherapy were depicted through an animated video. The Physiotherapy staff guided and helped the students to plan and implement their ideas. The celebration comprises various competitive activities viz. ‘Physiotherapy Rangoli Competition’, ‘Poster Presentation’, ‘Model Presentation’, ‘Quiz Competition’ and ‘Best Classroom Competition’. The students participated with great enthusiasm and tried to depict various medical and health issues through creative Art. Prof. (Mrs.) Navneen Bawa, OSD, Dr. M.S. Batra, Dean Sciences and the Heads of the various departments were present to encourage the students. The winners of all the competitions were rewarded with certificates. Principal Sir appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them for future.
