Amritsar, March 11, 2025: The P. G. Department of English, in collaboration with the Mulk Raj Anand English Literary Society, organized a series of literary competitions. Dr. Arvinder Kaur Khalon, the Principal of Khalsa College, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The programme began with the recitation of the College Shabad. Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Head of the Department, welcomed the guest and highlighted that the department consistently organizes such events for the holistic development of students. She informed that a total of 107 students participated in the competition, which included eight events: Quiz, Mimicry, Western Song, Story Writing, Poetry, Poster Making, and Slogan Writing.
In her address, Dr. Arvinder Kaur Khalon, the Principal emphasized the importance of co-curricular activities in fostering the skills necessary to tackle life's challenges. She also noted that these activities create a valuable connection between real-world issues and academic curriculum.
The judging panel included Dr. Mehtab Kaur, Dr. Harmandeep Kaur, Dr. Sawant Singh Manto, Prof. Malkinder Singh, Dr. Zorwar Singh, Dr. Deepak Devgon, S. Harjit Singh, Prof. Pooja Kalia, Prof. Saur Megh, and Prof. M.P. Masih.
Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Aulakh concluded the event by delivering the vote of thanks. She expressed her gratitude to the Principal for her guidance and support and thanked the teachers and students of the Literary Society for their hard work in making the event a success.
