Khalsa College Amritsar Holds an Extension Lecture on Acquainting the Students with Futuristic Higher Education
12 November 2024. The P. G. Department of English organised an extension lecture on acquainting the students with futuristic higher education in collaboration with IIC (Innovation Institution Council). Dr. A.K. Kahlon, the Principal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia, Dean Academic Affairs and Dr. Gursharan Kaur, President of Institution’s Innovation Council were present as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Khushwinder Kumar, Principal Khalsa College of Education, Amritsar was the resource person of the event.
The programme commenced with the recitation of College Shabad. Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Head of the Department, formally welcomed the guests with flower pots. She informed that the College constantly works for the holistic development of the students and acquaints them with the required skills and knowledge of the time. Dr. A.K. Kahlon, the principal in her address said that the lecture on acquainting the students with futuristic higher education will be fruitful for their career building as it would help them to choose their subjects. Dr. Khushwinder Kumar explained the National Education Policy pertaining to the higher education and said that credit based courses and degrees will assist students to become skilled members of society. It will establish equality between Indian education and foreign education. He emphasized to promote a culture which supports earning while learning to stop the brain drain.
Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia presented the vote of thanks. He appreciated the efforts made by the teachers and students of English department for organizing the lecture. Dr. Sawant Singh Manto conducted the stage on this occasion. Students of B.A.(Hons.) English, B.A. (Social Sciences), English Elective and M.A. English were benefitted by the event.
