Khalsa College Amritsar Holds Literary Competitions:
26 September 2024. The P. G. Department of English and Mulk Raj Anand English Literary Society organised literary competitions. Dr. Mehal Singh the Principal graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia, Dean Academic Affair, was the guest of Honour.
The programme commenced with the recitation of College Shabad. Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Head of the Department welcomed the guest and appraised that the department constantly organises such events for the holistic development of the students.
Dr. Mehal Singh in his address emphasized that co-curricular activities assist in nurturing the skill required for tackling the challenges of the life. They also make connection between the contextual issues and curriculum. Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia in his address Congratulate the students to participate in the Co-Curricular activities. He further told that creative activities are the resource of peace in the world of fret and worries.
Poetic Recitation, Poster Making, Cartoon Making Contests were conducted. Dr. Deepak Devgan, Prof. Sawant Singh Manto, Prof. Mehtab Kaur and Prof. Harmandeep Kaur judged the performances. Jasneet Kaur, Sinmar Kaur and Kangan won the first, second and third prize respectively in Poetic Rectitation While Indeep Kaur, Nishta and Shinedeep Kaur won first and second and third prize in Poster Making and Cartoon Making. Miss Smilejeet Kaur and Miss Mehakdeep Kaur conducted the stage on the occasion.
Dr. Jaswinder Kaur Aulakh co-ordinator presented the vote of thanks. She thanked the principal for his guidance and support. She also expressed her gratitude to teachers and students of literary society for their hard work to make the event successful. Prof. Daljeet Singh, Prof. Mamta Mahendru, Prof. Vijay Bernard, Prof. Pooja Kalia, Prof. Gurpreet Singh, Prof. Kanika Kataria, Prof. Harmanpreet Singh, Prof. Meghana Rajput, Prof. Akanksha Nautiyal, Prof. Prof. Saurav Megh, Prof. Harsh Salaria, Prof. Ranvir Singh, Prof. M.P. Masih and other faculty members were present on this occasion.
