Khalsa College Amritsar Holds an Extension Lecture on Role of Soft Skills in Personality Development
11 February, 2025, Amritsar. The P. G. Department of English of Khalsa College Amritsar organised an extension lecture on The Role of Soft Skills in Personality Development. Dr. A.K. Kahlon, the Principal, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. While Prof. Binod Kaur , Associate Professor and Head of the department of Applied Science of Amritsar Group of college, Amritsar was the resource person.
The programme commenced with the recitation of College Shabad. Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Head of the Department, formally welcomed the guests. Dr. A.K. Kahlon, the Principal in her address said that the Soft skills are the lubricants which are necessary for the smooth functioning of the society. They are the life line of a workplace. Students require them to achieve success in their professional lives. Prof. Binod Kaur explained about soft skills, the methods to acquire them and their role in personal and professional life. She further elaborated and illustrated how soft skills are complimentary to hard skills; how they are significant in attaining jobs and growth in social and professional life. She also answered the queries of the students.
Prof. Supninderjeet Kaur, Head of the Department appraised that college constantly works for the holistic development of its students and organizes many lectures and workshops to nurture the skills in the students to excel in life.
Prof. Pooja Kalia presented the vote of thanks. Students of B.A.(Hons.) English, B.A. (Social Sciences), English Elective and M.A. English were benefitted by the event.
