On 14th August, 2024 the Department of Social Sciences celebrated 77th Anniversary of National Independence with great enthusiasm. The celebration took place from 11 a.m. in the Department of Social Sciences. Dr. Mehal Singh, Principal Khalsa College and Prof. Jaspreet Kaur, Dean (Social Sciences) were invited as chief guests. Incharge of Social Sciences Department (Dr. Sawant Singh Manto) welcomed our worthy chief guests by giving them bouquet of roses. During the event, everyone was feeling proud to be a citizen of India. The program was started by reciting our National Anthem “Jan Gan Man”. Our Principal delivered a speech on how we got freedom. After listening to his speech, everybody felt proud how common people sacrificed for our country. Youngsters got motivated to protect our nation at any cost. After that, students performed their plays on a memory of our freedom fighters. Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur (Dean & Head of Political Sciences) also gave speech and discussed about the current Scenario of India. The students of Social Sciences also arranged some games for teachers like singing patriotic songs, mimicry, skits etc. The program ended after two hours with the speech of Dean Academics (Dr. Taminder Singh Bhatia) by giving vote of thanks to everybody. That was the memorable day for everyone.
