Musical event Heer Waris Shah “Naale Rovdan Te Naale Gaavda” 15 February 2025
P.G Departments of Music and P.G department of Punjabi studies of Khalsa College, Amritsar organized a musical concert dedicated to Late Padan Shri Dr. Surjeet Patar and S. Mahinder Singh Randhawa. The main theme of this program was the singing of Heer Waris Shah titled "Naale Rovdan Te Naale Gaavda" This event was sponsored by Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh, and Bhasha Vibag, Punjab. Sh. Swarnjeet Singh Savi, Director, Punjab Kala Parishad, Chandigarh, Sh. Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina Sectary khalsa charitable society, Dr Mahal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Khalsa University, Amritsar Dr Arvinder Kaur Kahlon, Principal Khalsa College, Amritsar was Chief Guests. Along with other dignitaries addressing audience on the occasion. Dr. Atam Singh Randhawa, HOD, P.G department of Punjabi studies and P.G Department of Music was convener of the above event he explained that grand festival was dedicated to Punjab's literary and cultural renaissance. He emphasized that Waris Shah, a celebrated poet of Punjabi literature, needs no special introduction. From the beginning of the event students of P.G Department of Music performed various Bands of Heer. The timeless Punjabi epic, Continues to inspire musical renditions and performances that captivate audiences worldwide. Recently, a notable event Renowned Punjabi singer Dr. Aman Sufi mesmerized the audience with her unique singing style, presenting the verses of Waris Shah's Heer and the poetry of Surjit Patar. Additionally, the legendary Padam Shri Puran Chand Wadali enchanted attendees with his rendition of Waris Shah's Heer, further enriching the cultural experience. The stage management was brilliantly handled by Dr. Parminder Singh. All faculty members department of Music and Punjabi played an important role to make this program successful.
