Economics Society of PG Department of Economics organised Debate on the topic “Does Inflation Promote Economic Growth?” on Sep 26, 2024 at 12:30 P.M. in the department of Economics. From Various Classes of Economics Department, 2 teams (consisting of 10 members each) participated in the Debate. President of Economics Society, Guneesha Makkar of M.A (Eco) Sem III introduced the topic for Debate and welcomed all the participants and announced the names of two judges (Dr Geetinder Mann and Dr. Navjot Kaur, PG Department of Economics). Participants of first team presented their arguments in favour of given topic and the other team’s participants presented arguments against the topic in the given specified time. After the presentation of their arguments, Both the teams contradicted each other’s opinions and thus, intense discussion took place amongst the participants. The teachers from Economics Department also participated in the discussion.
After the completion of the event, the winning team and the best speaker (one from each team) were announced by Dr Geetinder Mann. Secretary of the society (Jaskiran Kaur of B.Sc (Eco) Sem V) extended the vote of thanks. On this occasion, Dr. Anju Sharma (Convenor), Dr. Supreet kaur (Co-Convenor), Dr. Saveeta, Dr. Seozy Bhatia and Dr. Rachhpal Singh were also present. Refreshments were also given to the participants.
