PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Khalsa College Amritsar organized Workshop on Cinematography: The Art of Visual Story Telling

PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Khalsa College Amritsar organized workshopon the theme Cinematography: The Art of Visual Story Telling on 23rd September 2023.

Mr Amit Gogna a renowned Cinematographer, Director and Videographer from Cinedo Productions was the resource person on this occasion. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh, along with Coordinator of the Department Prof. Jaspreet Kaur and Dr Sania Marwaha Incharge of the department gave a floral welcome to the Chief Guest and presented him a college memento. This Cinematography Workshop was divided into two different sessions. Speaking on this event Principal Dr Mehal Singh said that the aim of this workshop was to help amateur students to learn the technicalities involved in the field of Cinematography.He also congratulated the entire staff of the department for making sincere efforts for organising this workshop.

Prof. Jaspreet Kaur told the students about the achievements of resource person and said that through this workshop students will gain an introduction to techniques in lighting, composition, colour theory, film, digital techniques, and different camera movements.

During the event Dr Sania Marwaha Incharge of the department said that the main aim of this workshop was to familiarize the amateurs about core concepts of Cinematography and stages of production.

During the first session of the workshop Mr Amit Gogna familiarise the students with basics of photography including various parts of camera, different types of cameras, types of lenses, the working of a camera, aperture, shutter speed, ISO and different techniques of photography.

In the Second Session the resource person practically demonstrated the students about various functions of the camera, the exposure triangle (Shutter speed, Aperture and ISO) and the principles of composition and lighting in the college studio.
