Department of Food Science and Technology organized an industrial visit to ITC Kapurthala for the students of MSc Food Technology in order to enhance their practical knowledge and let them have an overview on the activities related to the manufacture of food products in that big industrial house. Students had a very informative and interactive session with the technical team of persons engaged in the manufacturing of various brands of Sunfeast Bounce Biscuits, Chocofills, Nut milkshake, B-Natural juices and Ashirwad whole wheat flour. Students won many prizes in the surprise quiz contest especially designed for our students by the HR personals to test their aptitude and knowledge about Food Technology. Later students were carried to the processing areas where they observed live the whole manufacturing process right from basic raw materials to the finished food product. This visit was helpful for the students to understand mechanization, industrial working conditions and unit operations of a food industry. Principal Dr Mehal Singh congratulated the students, Head and staff members of the department for their achievement. Dr. Manbir Singh, Head of Department and Dr Davinder Pal Singh accompanied the students.
